Instructions for Authors

Journal of Geosciences, Earth and Planetary Systems welcomes submissions of original research articles, review papers, case studies, and short communications that align with the journal’s thematic scope. Authors should follow the guidelines below when preparing their manuscripts.

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format via the journal’s online submission system.
  • A cover letter must accompany the submission, including the corresponding author's contact details and a brief overview of the study’s contribution.
  • The manuscript should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Authors must ensure that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript before submission.
  • Articles should be formatted according to journal standards, and revisions may be requested for clarity, structure, or presentation.

Article Types

  • Research Articles: Detailed studies presenting new data, models, or analysis in areas such as geology, geophysics, climate systems, or planetary science.
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive surveys of existing literature that offer critical interpretation and suggest future research directions.
  • Case Studies: Descriptions of field-based or applied research with specific geological, environmental, or planetary relevance.
  • Short Communications: Brief articles reporting preliminary results, new methods, or observations of interest to the geoscience community.

Manuscript Structure

  • Title Page: A concise title, full author names, affiliations, and the corresponding author’s contact information.
  • Abstract: A structured summary (150-250 words) covering objectives, methods, key findings, and implications.
  • Keywords: 5-10 relevant terms for indexing and visibility.
  • Introduction: Background, research context, objectives, and rationale.
  • Materials and Methods: Description of fieldwork, laboratory techniques, analytical tools, or modeling approaches used.
  • Results: Presentation of findings with figures, tables, or diagrams as necessary.
  • Discussion: Interpretation of results, comparison with existing studies, and significance to the field.
  • Conclusion: Summary of major insights and directions for further research.
  • References: All references must be formatted in APA style, and authors should ensure accuracy and consistency.

Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Authors typically receive initial feedback within four weeks of submission. Final acceptance is subject to reviewer recommendations and editorial approval.

Copyright and Open Access

Upon acceptance, authors transfer the copyright to the journal. All articles are published open access, making them freely accessible to the global research community.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

A processing fee of $2099 applies to accepted articles. Authors may request a partial fee reduction if needed by contacting the editorial office.
