Instructions for Authors

Journal of Sports Science and Human Performance welcomes submissions of original research articles, review papers, applied studies, case reports, and short communications. Authors are requested to follow the submission guidelines below to ensure a smooth peer-review and publication process.

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format via the journal’s online submission portal.
  • A cover letter must be included with the submission, stating the corresponding author's contact details and a summary of the article's purpose and relevance.
  • Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • All authors listed on the manuscript must approve the final version before submission.
  • Formatting should follow journal guidelines; revisions may be requested for clarity, consistency, or structure.

Article Types

  • Research Articles: Original studies examining physiological, biomechanical, psychological, or training-based variables related to performance or physical health.
  • Review Articles: Summaries and critical analyses of recent research on specific topics in exercise science, sport training, or rehabilitation.
  • Case Reports: In-depth accounts of individual performance assessments, rehabilitation cases, or applied intervention strategies.
  • Short Communications: Concise articles reporting early findings, pilot data, or technical innovations in human performance.

Manuscript Structure

  • Title Page: Include the article title, full author names, institutional affiliations, and the email address of the corresponding author.
  • Abstract: Provide a structured abstract (150-250 words) outlining the objective, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: List 5-10 relevant terms to assist in indexing.
  • Introduction: State the research question, background context, and purpose of the study.
  • Materials and Methods: Describe study design, participant characteristics, procedures, equipment, and data analysis.
  • Results: Present key findings using figures or tables where needed.
  • Discussion: Interpret results in light of current literature and practical implications.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and potential directions for future work.
  • References: Format all citations in APA style. Authors must ensure accuracy and completeness.

Review Process

All submissions are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process. Authors generally receive initial feedback within four weeks of submission.

Copyright and Open Access

Upon acceptance, authors transfer copyright to the journal. Articles are published open access, allowing unrestricted access and citation.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

A processing fee of $1019 applies to accepted articles. Authors may contact the editorial office to request a partial fee waiver if needed.
