About the Journal
OralCare Journal of Clinical Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Surgery is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes research and clinical reports across the full spectrum of dental and oral health sciences. While the journal maintains a core focus on oral medicine and maxillofacial surgery, it also embraces broader areas of dentistry, including restorative care, preventive practice, and the full range of clinical specialties that support comprehensive patient management.
The journal provides a platform for dentists, oral surgeons, researchers, and allied professionals to share advancements in diagnostics, treatment planning, surgical innovation, and overall oral healthcare. Its scope includes the treatment of diseases affecting the oral mucosa, temporomandibular joint, salivary glands, facial structures, and jaw bones, along with general and specialist dental practice.
Research contributions may span multiple domains, such as endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry, and oral rehabilitation. The journal supports the publication of clinical trials, case reports, literature reviews, technique notes, diagnostic innovations, and practice-based outcomes research.
Advanced surgical topics, including craniofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, pathology-driven resections, bone grafting, and implantology, are a central part of the journal’s identity. However, equal attention is given to preventive protocols, caries management, periodontal health, tooth preservation techniques, and aesthetic restorative procedures. Articles addressing interdisciplinary approaches, combining medical, surgical, and prosthetic expertise, are encouraged.
The journal also welcomes work on emerging tools and techniques in dental technology, such as intraoral scanning, 3D imaging, CAD/CAM systems, cone-beam CT, biomaterials research, and digital workflow integration in clinical dentistry. Studies that connect clinical performance with patient-reported outcomes, access to care, or practice efficiency are also considered valuable.
By publishing open access, OralCare Journal of Clinical Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Surgery supports a global readership of dental clinicians, researchers, and educators. It seeks to contribute to informed decision-making in patient care, promote innovation in clinical technique, and improve the understanding of oral health and disease from both surgical and non-surgical perspectives.
Whether your expertise lies in managing complex facial trauma, restoring a worn dentition, planning orthodontic care for pediatric patients, or refining the biocompatibility of dental materials, this journal offers a place to present your work to a specialized and multidisciplinary audience.
