General Anesthesia
General Anesthesia is a combination of medications that put you in a sleep-like state before a surgery or other medical procedure. Under general anesthesia, you don't feel pain because you're completely unconscious. It is carried out to allow medical procedures that would otherwise be intolerably painful for the patient, or where the nature of the procedure itself precludes the patient being awake. General anesthesia usually uses a combination of intravenous drugs and inhaled gasses (anesthetics). There are a number of potential side effects of anesthesia. Some individuals may experience none, others a few. None of the side effects are particularly long-lasting and tend to occur straight after the anesthesia.Relevant Articles
