About the Journal

Journal of Climate Change, Disaster Risk and Resilience Studies is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that focuses on the scientific, social, and policy dimensions of climate change, disaster risk management, and resilience-building efforts. It provides a platform for researchers, climate scientists, urban planners, environmental managers, public health experts, and policy analysts to share research that addresses the complex challenges posed by global environmental change and disaster vulnerability.

The journal encourages interdisciplinary work that connects the understanding of climate systems with the practical and policy-level decisions that influence how societies prepare for, respond to, and recover from both slow-onset and sudden-impact hazards. It recognizes that climate change and disaster risks are not just environmental or technical issues, but also deeply social and political ones that affect livelihoods, health, infrastructure, ecosystems, and governance.

Topics covered in the journal include climate modelling, risk assessment, adaptation strategies, early warning systems, disaster preparedness, post-disaster recovery, and policy analysis. Research may address both natural hazards, such as floods, droughts, wildfires, storms, and heatwaves, and human-induced risks linked to climate change and environmental degradation.

The journal supports submissions that examine the effects of climate change on agriculture, water resources, human health, coastal systems, and urban infrastructure. Articles that explore resilience-building at household, community, regional, or institutional levels are particularly encouraged, especially those that present case studies, lessons from past events, or frameworks for future planning.

In addition to empirical and theoretical research, the journal welcomes reviews, technical notes, and data-driven analyses that provide insight into risk reduction, sustainable adaptation, and recovery planning. It also invites contributions that evaluate climate policy, financing mechanisms, governance structures, and international cooperation efforts.

Journal of Climate Change, Disaster Risk and Resilience Studies values applied knowledge that informs real-world decisions, as well as conceptual work that deepens understanding of climate risk and systemic vulnerability. It encourages submissions from across geographies, particularly research from high-risk or underrepresented regions.

By making all published articles openly available, the journal aims to support collaboration and knowledge sharing between researchers, practitioners, educators, and decision-makers worldwide. Its mission is to promote forward-looking, science-informed responses that help communities become more adaptable, equitable, and secure in the face of ongoing environmental change.

Whether your work involves modelling sea-level rise impacts, evaluating drought response programs, analyzing climate migration trends, or proposing tools for community-based resilience planning, this journal offers a dedicated platform to share your insights with an engaged and multidisciplinary audience.
