Gene Transfer

Insertion of unrelated genetic information into cells in the form of DNA is known as gene transfer. Gene transfer technology provides the ability to genetically manipulate the cells of higher animals. Gene therapy is a promising therapeutic option that requires efficient gene delivery into living cells. Gene transfer has the potential to be a significant tool for treating a wide range of illnesses. Gene transfer technique is used very widely both in basic research and applied biology. The delivery of DNA into animal cells is a fundamental and established procedure. It has become an indispensable tool for gene cloning, the study of gene function and regulation and the production of small amounts of recombinant proteins for analysis and verification.
