Biography

I am a results-focused scientist with over 19 years of expertise in advanced organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and analytical method development in private industry, government institutes, and academia. In 2004, I graduated from Professor Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce, and Science, College at the University of Pune with a Bachelor of Science degree. After a year as a Junior Research and Development Chemist, I earned a Master of Science from the School of Chemical Sciences at North Maharashtra University. I then spent four and a half years researching in commercial chemical companies and public-sector institutes, laying the groundwork for significant discoveries. Driven by a desire to do more in-depth research, I returned to academia full-time and received my Doctor of Philosophy in Organic Chemistry from the School of Chemical Sciences at North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. My doctoral dissertation was named "Synthesis, Characterization, and Biological Activities of 3,4-dimethylpyrrole Derivatives". Following my doctoral work, I spent nearly a decade in the commercial chemical business, bridging the essential gap between bench-scale synthesis and industrial-scale commercialization. I started working as a Research Officer for the Jai Research Foundation in Gujarat, India, in the department of E-fate & Metabolism, and Chemistry. During my eight-year career, I led the various OECD-GLP studies as study director. Building on this operational foundation, I joined Hikal Limited in Mumbai as Manager of their OECD-GLP Laboratory. In this corporate leadership position, I oversaw team management, managed the execution of complicated research, and wrote crucial standard operating procedures (SOPs) to assure complete audit readiness. I began working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Creighton University School of Medicine. My current research focuses on small-molecule drug development using structure-activity relationships (SARs), with the goal of generating novel therapeutics for neurodegenerative and ophthalmic illnesses.
