Viscosity
Viscosity is a measure of the resistance of a fluid to deform under shear stress. It describes the internal friction of a moving fluid. A fluidwith large viscosity resists motion because its molecular makeup gives it a lot of internal friction. The physical unit for dynamic viscosity in the centimeter gram second system of units (cgs) is the poise (P), named after Jean Poiseuille.
