Biography

Dr Pratik’s research interests are primarily in the areas of electronics, opto-electronics and photo-electrocatalysis of 0D, 1D and 2D-materials including graphene, metal chalcogenides and metal oxides and metals nanoparticles. His research has involved the development of bio-degradable and eco-friendly electronic for online monitoring the human health. His research also involves the fabrication of flexible, bio-degradable, broad band and highly photosensitive cellulose paper-based opto-electronic devices. He has secured his doctorate from Sardar Patel University with Best Thesis award.Currently, he is post-doctoral fellow at P. D. Patel Institute of Applied Sciences, CHARUSAT. His current research focuses on development of photosensitive electrocatalysts for water splitting to produces clean energy incorporating the enhancement to catalytic activity due to exposure of Sun light. His goal is to discover a low-cost energy generation alternative using commercial Platinum-based electrocatalysts. Dr. Pratik has published more than 65 papers in peer reviewed international journals and has also served as a reviewer for a number of international journals. He was recently appointed as a topic editor for Frontiers in Materials, an international Journal. He also received the “Top 1% citation award in India” from the IOP (Institute of Physics) journal in the United Kingdom.
