About Endocrinology and Endocrine System

Endocrinology and Endocrine System is an Open Access journal which aims to develop knowledge and to share the information freely by making them available through online without any restrictions or any other subscriptions to researchers worldwide and also to the readers globally within the field of endocrinology. This journal follows a rapid peer review process for each submission to attain better quality and high impact factor.

Endocrinology is the study of biology and medicine that relates to the endocrine system, its diseases and hormones. The endocrine system is a network of several organs called glands. A gland is an organ that makes and puts out hormones that do a specific job in your body. These glands, located all over your body, create and secrete (release) hormones. The main function of endocrine glands is to secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream. Hormones are chemicals that coordinate different functions in your body by carrying messages through your blood to your organs, skin, muscles and other tissues. Hormones affect the activity of another part of the body (target site). In essence, hormones serve as messengers, controlling and coordinating activities throughout the body.

The endocrine system is a messenger system comprising feedback loops of the hormones released by internal glands of an organism directly into the circulatory system, regulating distant target organs. In vertebrates, the hypothalamus is the neural control center for all endocrine systems. The endocrine system is a complex network of glands and organs. It uses hormones to control and coordinate your body’s metabolism, energy level, reproduction, growth and development, and response to injury, stress, and mood.

Endocrinology focuses on endocrine organs, such as pituitary, thyroid, adrenals, ovaries, testes, pancreas, secretions called hormones, also its diseases. It also concerned with the developmental events like proliferation, growth, and differentiation, and the psychological or behavioral activities of metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, sleep, digestion, respiration, excretion, mood, stress, lactation, movement, reproduction, and sensory perception caused by hormones.

Endocrinology and Endocrine System accepts manuscripts in the form of original research articles, review articles, case reports, short communications, letters to editor and editorials for publication in an open access platform. The submitted articles are peer-reviewed  and cceptance of any manuscript for publication requires approval of at least two independent reviewers and the editor.
