Pituitary Tumors

Pituitary adenomas are tumors occurs in the pituitary gland. They are divided into 3 categories depends on their functioning Benign adenoma Invasive adenoma Carcinomas Mostly, pituitary adenomas are slow-growing and benign (not cancer) do not spread to other parts of the body. Cause of Pituitary adenomas is unknown. May caused by genetics and environmental factors. Symptoms of pituitary adenomas vary depends on type of hormone released by the tumor.  Symptoms include on production of pituitary hormones released by the tumor. It can be diagnosed by medical history or physical findings. Treatment depends on several factors like Hormone production by the tumor Tumor size The extent that the tumor invaded surrounding structures Your age and general health If requires pituitary adenomas surgery can be done. Some tumors cannot be removed through surgical process or may not respond to medications. In that case, radiation therapy can be effective in controlling the growth of these tumors.
